Made on our Chunky square toed 649D last, YMC asked us if it was possible to make a backless mule in our Northamptonshire factory.
After various trials we have been able to make this chunky slide that mirrors YMC's signature oxford with split centre seaming. They wanted to keep a super simple silhouette to showcase the shape of the last so apart from the centre seam there is no other visible styling from the side of the shoe, the mule is cut high to fit securely on the foot.
The upper is polished burgundy bookbinder, the footbed is lightly padded throughout and although this is not a welted style the mule has a flat all round welt and leather sole with grippy rubber forepart.
