Our Grenson Veldt is based on the original Veldtschoen boots. These are made using a unique technique where the upper is stitched onto the welt, eliminating the gap between the upper and the sole, thus making the construction more water resistant. Veldtschoen translates literally as Bush-Shoe.
Vincent Grenson Veldt men’s derby boot has been made using dark brown Fontana Grain, a rugged but soft oily pull up leather that is impregnated with waxes for water resistance. The leather will pick up knocks and scratches, this is all part of its character but a rub with a soft cloth will restore the surface by reactivating the oils and waxes. This veldt is completed with our lightweight commando sole and made entirely in our Northamptonshire factory.
