We first met Jack from Billy Tannery a few years ago when he contacted us to tell us about his new micro tannery in the Midlands, in fact the first new tannery in the UK for nearly 100 years. He had set out to create beautiful goat skins from otherwise waste product and wanted us to try making some shoes with him. The leather itself is full grain and vegetable tanned which gives it a special character and means that it ages naturally and beautifully.
Cut to several years later and a worldwide pandemic successfully negotiated, and we can now proudly present our limited edition drop of gorgeous Grenson X Billy derby work boots. This is another project in our endless search for new and more sustainable materials for shoemaking, and although it’s only a small step, at least it’s a step.
