Interview | 24 June 2020

This week we are featuring our friends, Florist and PlantS women - the wonderful Kitten Grayson and the Creative Director Harriette Tebbutt whose business, “Kitten Grayson Flowers” is a London based studio that creates unique floral installations for individuals and luxury events. Her clients are too many to mention but they include the likes of Nike, The Saatchi Gallery, Vogue and Hauser and Wirth.

Your life in a nutshell?

Eat. Sleep. Dream. Flowers. Repeat.

What are you most proud of?

We've been so lucky to have worked on some incredible projects such as Heckfield place, the biodynamic Hampshire based hotel where we're floral consultants. Here we've collaborated with Jane Scotter of Vern Farm to fill the hotel's cutting gardens with some of the country's rarest species and unique flora. The home-grown blooms come together in arrangements throughout the hotel, complementing Skye Gyngell's seasonal menus and Ben Thompson's harmonious interiors to create an enriched, holistic environment.

In 2018 we were comissioned by the RHS to create an installation for the iconic London Gate Entrance to the Chelsea Flower Show. This installtion was entitled 'Trees of Life' and was designed to celebrate the union of Harry Windsor and Meghan Markle - the installation was replanted following the show.

From weddings to installations, we have met some amazing people along the way and are most pround of how Kitten Grayson Flowers has evolved and continues to grow.

WHERE DO YOU LIVE AND WHAT DO YOU LOVE MOST ABOUT THE AREA?

We are based in London but spend a lot of time in Somerset, both are so different buy equally inspiring!

INVOLVEMENT IN GLASTONBURY

We were SO excited as we'd been asked to dress one of the areas at Glastonbury. Having grown up going to the festival it was going to be mega but we can't wait to go bigger and better next year!

MOST EXCITING THING ABOUT YOUR JOB

Everyy day is different, you never know where it is going to take you or who you will meet along the way.

WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD?

Whilst our routines have been out of sync, we have been looking to the season to guide our way. We have a very exciting project in the pipeline, involving lots of mud and hard graft! We are not allowed to say too much at the moment but you will be sure to see us stomping on lots of soil in our Grensons!
